Mr. Del Follow-Martinez’s research is focused on phytochemicals in fruit and vegetables, and their potential health benefits against chronic diseases. Current research projects are with Texas red wines as a source of polyphenolic compounds with potential chemoprevention properties against colon cancer. His focus is on molecular markers that target programmed cells death as well as, novel molecular pathways involved in apoptosis and angiogenesis. Another research interest is to increase quality and stability of Texas wines using micro-oxygenation and other techniques.
